April 17 Happenings

Hey Y'all! This week was a little longer but it was still good! Here is what happened.

Wednesday: Wednesday was a mess. First we went to Eugene and Carols apartment to see if they had read ( we had asked them to read and gave them TWO WEEKS To do it) if they hadn't we were dropping them sadly. When we got there sadly we found out that they had not read and they also mentioned that they found out they had bed bugs! SO we left imediately after testifying of the power of the Book of Mormon and that until they read we wouldn't be able to help them. Then we immediately biked back to the apartment and before going inside called the Senior Elder in charge of the housing to ask him what would be best to avoid them getting in our apartment. He said to immediately wash all our clothes on Hot and each take a hot shower as well as spray our whole apartment with  Prometherin. Which is some sort of bug poison that works really well. So we did that too and luckily we didn't spend hardly any time in his house after we forgot so we were fine and didn't have any bed bugs. That night I told Elder King, "Don't let the bed bugs bite". He didn't think it was funny. We also biked really far out and tried some potentials but they were not home. On the way back Elder King decided he needed a new back tire so we had to stop and get that. Over all it was just crazy but it all turned out fine. Then that night we went and saw this guy in are ward named Tremaine. He went into the Hospital the second day I was in Forsyth because of bleeding on the brain and stuff. He has been in a comma since then but now he is starting to come back he can't talk yet but he will soon. He can shake his head yes and no to questions though. It is unbelievable. It just goes to show the power of prayer. That is if it is the Lord's will.

Thursday: Today was pretty basic, We had a cool Lunch with the Chadwicks who are the senior couple that serve in Macon. They took us to waffle house. It was really good. I like waffle house. They have like a billion of them in Georgia too! Later we had a good lesson with Timmy again. He is a really nice guy and I can tell he wants to be baptized. Then we did some online Pros and talked to some people we are trying to teach through messenger. It is really pretty cool.

Friday: today was Friday the 13th haha. It was also weekly planning so that was annoying. But it was good to get it done and to plan some good stuff in. I am grateful for planning what we are doing though. It really helps. That evening we tried some more potentials but no one answered.

Saturday: Transfer calls were that evening. That was on my mind all day long. I was curious to see what would happen as every missionary always is. I am staying in Forsyth for another transfer. We also found out that we would be getting a new companion but that we wouldn't have to go to transfers and that President Grayson would drop him off at our apartment himself! That is very unusual. But it allowed us more free time so that was nice.

Sunday: Church was great! I got to relate to some of the members better because I had done the Dirty Dash and so that was nice. President and Sister Grayson also randomly showed up to let us know that we wouldn't need to go to transfers. It also poured rain really hard all day long. So that made biking a lot more interesting than normal.

Monday: was pretty average. Since transfers is tomorrow we don't have district meeting this week. So that is a little stress I don't have to deal with. I was really excited to meet my new comp. We also had an awesome video lesson where we read Alma 32 with Timmy. That went great!

Today: Elder Petty is one of my new comps along with Elder King still. Elder Petty seems really cool and I talked to him at other mission conferences. He is a cool guy and I can tell we will get along really well. I am excited.

Well that is the week. It was different and all but it was pretty good. Here are some pictures I took through out. I love you all and I hope everything is going well. Love Elder Blair. :)

News from Elder Blair April 10, 2018

Hey y'all!  This week was pretty great! Here is what happened.

Tuesday last week. We hung out on our hammocks after we had cleaned, emailed, and gotten groceries. That was nice. Then that evening We went and tried some potentials and talked to Timmy. He is an investigator that had been taught a lot in the past and we just are trying to lovingly see if he has any hold backs to Baptism.

Wednesday: We went out and just did some normal tracting and street contacting as well as online stuff. It was pretty average. That night we had our group coordination at Shoney's which is a pretty good southern buffet. Brother Philips the group leader takes us there on wednesdays. Usually we go and visit people after but this week he was busy so we went and visited people close by. We found out early on that it is rough to bike after eating a lot so Elder Flammer and I would eat a lot less than we could so it wouldn't be painful. Elder King didn't follow suit. haha. He regretted it later.

Thursday: we went and saw a bunch of different potentials. We are in the process of cleaning off our board of all the people who aren't progressing so that we can fill it with people that are. That night we had dinner with a Recent Convert named Cheryl. She is really nice! She has a lot of land and animals and stuff and she built her whole house herself. It is nice too. She cooked us some really good food as usual and we finished the new member lessons with her and the Chadwicks. They are a senior missionary couple. They are cool and they also had 7 kids. So y'all aren't out of luck! It is a possibility.

Friday: We had weekly planning. That is always super slow and takes forever! I don't like it that much. It is hard to focus on it because it takes so long to do. We took some breaks to go visit some people though so that was good. Later we got to do some service for a member. That was also a nice break from being inside. Then President Grayson called and Let us know Elder Flammer was getting ET'd. So that put a change in our plans.

Saturday: we had most of the day to go see people and proselyte. Then we came back and let Elder Flammer pack his stuff since the next day we would have church most of the time before he got picked up.

Sunday: we had a really good Fast Sunday and I bore a brief testimony of the sacrament. We teach the gospel principles class since it is a small group. It was funny because since the group is so small and meets in a conference center because it doesn't have a building( yet! one is being built)  the Priesthood already all met together. So that wasn't any different.  Then after Church we had some companion study and President Grayson came and got Elder Flammer and left. The rest of the day actually went really well. I was worried because Elder King was kinda hard to get along with in a trio. But I worked hard to apply what Elder Bednar talked about in conference about beeing meek and how it wasn't weakness but actually strength. I was shocked by how much happier and less stressed I felt. He is a good missionary too. I think that since I was such good friends with Elder Flammer and Elder King was so different than Elder Flammer and I was only seeing the bad at first. But when I focused on the good and tried my hardest to help him to feel loved then I felt so much better. That evening we got two new investigators. One named Otis and another named Carla. Otis is a great guy he has a little son and we were able to share that video about fathers and stuff with him. ( the video reminds me of you every time dad :)) He is really interested and I could tell he felt the spirit. Then we had a facebook lesson with a girl named Davita. That went pretty well. I am getting used to Facebook lessons but I think I liked it enough. Overall it was a really good day. It was all because of my attitude towards it too.

Monday: We had a phenomenal district meeting!  The AP's are in our district ( They are the Assistants to the president which means they are like the best example of missionary work and they are constantly doing stuff for him and going on exchanges with the Zone leaders. ) so that is very nerve racking but also really neat. They are normal people and I am the only District leader that gets to go on exchanges with them. I enjoy getting to learn stuff from them. After district meeting we had a missionary " funeral" for sister Christensen because she was going home this transfer because her mission is over. I realized then that missionaries do some weird things. It was cool though.

Today: it is P-day and we got groceries and I have a lot of money saved this week since transfers are coming up and I might have to buy a lot of food If I get transferred to a new area. Later I plan on hammocking and Elder King wants to send a package so we will be doing that.

I love y'all so much ! I am sorry I don't always have time to write my emails like this but I will try to do them more often. I love you! Love Elder Blair.

Here are some pictures.
I don't know the order but I used a lighter and a knife and did a chocolate bunny head transplant on the chocolate bunny. haha
Then there are a couple different pictures of the funeral and a cool hood ornament I saw. The clouds one day looked like a mountain line and I missed Utah for like a millisecond. Then the Plan of Salvation made into the word Love! That was cool. And some other stuff but it was good
